the moral wardrobe: psychedelic ships

personal style fair tradepersonal style blowfish shoes

Everything feels better after a hair cut. I asked my boss and a coworker what to do with my hair last Monday and my boss promptly replied, "Cut it really short!" Of course I listened to her.

I bought this crazy skirt last summer after I realized I'd rid my closet of anything inspirational in favor of J. Crew and Old Navy basics.

Ethical choices are bolded below:

  • Striped Shirt - J. Crew

  • Jacket - Second Hand via Plato's Closet

  • Skirt - Vintage via etsy

  • Leggings* - Old Navy

  • Booties - Blowfish via T. J. Maxx

  • Bumble Bee Drop Earrings - French Connection via Asos

The more I seek out ethical options, the more I realize how easy it is to find exactly what I want without ignoring my moral convictions. The more resources I add to my arsenal, the easier it is to avoid impulsive, unethical purchases.

*Part of the Ethical Trading Initiative, but I'm still not sure how well they adhere to ethical production standards.
