feelin' moody

Ba dah ba dah ba dah dah, feelin' moody.

maxi dress sporty lookfree people look Maybe the eccentricity of this outfit was too much for my psyche to handle, because I was just not feeling life yesterday. There is nothing wrong, but I think a bunch of bottled up stress finally forced its way out of my tear ducts. I had a nice cry fest after work, so we'll see if things start to feel better soon. It's been difficult to leave the life I'd worked to build here over several months due to the weird schedule of my new job.

This outfit was directly inspired by a look on the Free People blog featuring an oversized jersey-style top and a billowing maxi skirt. I can't understand why the outfit actually works; I never would have thought of it myself. That's why we need the internet.

Ethical choices are bolded below:

  • Striped Tee - Old Navy

  • Skirt - Vintage, borrowed from Water Lily Thrift

  • Sandals - Old Navy

I may as well clarify here what seems to be a point of confusion on my Relevant article. Some readers expressed concern about the long term repercussions of buying only second hand. If you've read this blog, it's pretty clear that I don't buy or endorse buying only secondhand clothing. But I do think it's one of the easiest ways to avoid making any moral wrong moves as a consumer. I feel uneasy about how much we let go to waste, but I think we need both to leave room for innovation and continue to create and maintain job positions. However, we should redirect our spending to support companies that are treating their employees with respect and care. I buy a lot from Gap Inc. because they're ranked on several ethical companies lists and have a strong corporate social responsibility report. I'll talk more about it later, but I wanted to make sure I got my point across before the whole discussion fades into the internet archives.
